Back to school has always felt like the start of my new year. I have subconsciously made (and not stuck to) resolutions around this time of year and for me, it marks the start of so many exciting things to come...
After a really lovely 6 weeks summer holiday with my (not so) baby girl, I was/am really looking forward to getting stuck into everything I have been neglecting over the past 6 weeks. This mainly included almost all our laundry throughout that time, I had washed it however it never made it further than the huge pile in our hallway and it became the place to grab clean underwear every morning. I learned throughout this laundry deficiency that I actually own a lot more underwear than my husband, however after 2 days of having to wear my 'nice' knickers, I found myself also traipsing down the stairs every morning to find a fresh pair to wear!
The main reason I love the change of seasons is because of the cooler weather. If you are reading this from the UK you will be highly aware that sadly this is not the case this year and we are enduring some hellish heat which is really making me so lethargic. For anyone outside the UK who doesn't really understand why it's because we don't have AC in our homes here and my thermostat is hovering around the 28c mark all day and all night!! We bought our home because of our
beautiful 13 south facing windows with far reaching views into the countryside... in the heat I curse those windows!
Nevertheless I have made baby steps in the kitchen with my autumn/winter prep. I have yet to make my popular Jumbleberry Jam but I have started to store the freezer with my specialty chocolate brownies, chocolate chip cookies and chicken noodle soup in preparation for the first cold bug to enter our home. I do have a blog post planned on stocking up the freezer so watch this space.
I just re-read last year's blog post and it filled me with warm and fuzzy vibes (the weather was cooler and the tone of my post was much more upbeat haha!) Ill like that here if you fancy a read!
That's all for now! xx
