Autumn is here

The cosy season is officially here and I couldn't be happier!! I thrive at this time of year and I can't wait to share all my joy with you all! I've started putting out a few little pumpkins, a few extra sets of fairy lights and scattering extra blankets around the house in preparation for the highly anticipated colder and snuggly evenings...

There is nothing I love more than curling up in bed or in front of the fire with a good book and one of my furry members of our family and escaping away while listening to the rain lash against the windows. And of course, if I'm not reading then I just love re-watching old series as it never requires my full attention and my mind will often wonder... usually thinking about food or more often than not I really start to think and get excited about Christmas!!

It wouldn't be October without pumpkins. I find nothing more exciting than walking into Tesco's and seeing the huge boxes of pumpkins waiting to be popped into my trolly as soon as I walk in! Ready to be bought home and popped every where in our house and most importantly surrounding the front door! It's so nice to come home and see them there dotted around the potted chrysanthemums and cyclamens.

Of course, pumpkins have more than just a decorational use. They can prove very delicious in the kitchen too! I have some very exciting recipes coming soon but I will mention right now that the seeds are absolutely delicious!! Every year millions of these go to waste but with barely any effort they can make the most delicious snack or topper for soups or stews! So when you carve your pumpkins this year, SAVE THE SEEDS!! I shall link my recipe below!

Cosy season means its now time to bring out all the hearty, warm comforting recipes. Autumn has no time for salads but soups most certainly come into their own this time of year! Our family favourite recipe is my beef and ale pie! It's super easy to make and requires little effort & ingredients! I shall link it below!

Special mention also to having crumble for every dessert for the next few months! I made a lovely discovery recently that crumbled digestive biscuits mixed in with the classic crumble topping is really delicious so I highly recommend adding them if you have a few stale ones lurking at the bottom of your biscuit barrel!

I think that's all for now! I'm saving myself to be honest because all I want to do is chat about Christmas!!!! I have so many exciting things to share with you all and honestly as soon as I press post on this I'm going to start typing up all my festive content!

Thank you all once again for reading, it really means the world to me! xx
